Parlez vous Andy Wolf?

The Austrian design meets French craftsmanship and starts its metal production

words Editorial staff

To mark its 10 year anniversary, the Austrian eyewear manufacturer Andy Wolf Eyewear has bought a new factory in the French department of Jura,  in the picturesque Alps. Only metal glasses are made here, and they make them by hand. «When Andy Wolf was founded, at the time we had a forward-looking vision and relied on our own acetate glasses production in the heart of Austria. Now we want to expand our portfolio with our own metal factory, but that was not feasible in Hartberg for reasons of capacity – said Katharina Schlager, designer and director of Andy Wolf – We’d been looking for a metal eyeglasses production plant that met our requirements for some time and finally found what we were looking for in the French department of Jura».

The first collection includes 14 optical glasses and 5 sunglasses. The metal eyeglasses á la ANDY WOLF are made from spring-tempered nickel silver, the bridge is made of stainless steel, and some metal rings and temples feature a chasing! All sunglasses have Zeiss lenses and are limited to 500 pieces per colour per style. The collection will be presented at SILMO in Paris and will be available from the end of September.
