Sunglass model Tequila is a strong design that expresses the shared focus on material development and dynamic mood of both brands. It debuted at the Tim Coppens Fall/Winter 2017 show during Pitti Uomo 91. «We share a desire to create an authentic product that has relevance now but also looks to the future by incorporating innovative technology and craftsmanship.» says Tim Coppens. Tequila sees a Nineties dirt bike vibe translated into an uncompromising, modern eyewear design. The expansive front with its straight top line and the reduced form of the elongated keyhole bridge brings about a monolithic look. Lenses cut from a curved surface further contribute to the streamlined silhouette.

For Tequila a new milling process was introduced for the lenses which are cut from a cylindrical shield. This adds to the model’s linear look, and also creates the distinctive vertical reflections. A Mykita Mylon frame, Tequila is made using a 3D printing technology called Selective Laser Sin tering. Its unmistakeable look and feel is achieved by a proprietary finishing treatment. The organic quality of the pigmented, matt surface contrasts with slick, mirrored lenses evoking the textured design language of sportswear.
