Sustainability is the key

neubau eyewear is going to set new ecological standards. It starts with the use of naturalPX and continues with the new motto ‘See&Do Good’

In 2017, sustainability should be a word included by every company in its core values. neubau eyewear, founded in June 2016, has decided to make environment respecting policies a cornerstone of its activity. The Austrian brand created by Silhouette is going to introduce naturalPX, a highly developed eco-friendly material to be used on every polymer frame manufactured by neubau from April 2017 onwards (the models Bob, Valerie and Dani are already made with it).

65% of this polymer is composed of oil extracted from the seeds of castor oil plants, a renewable product. The organic-based element guarantees excellent standards of flexibility, solidity and lightness. There are no limits in terms of colouration using naturalPX, from deep colours a long lasting transparent crystal clear finish. This forward-looking vision isn’t limited to the production of frames. The Austrian brand has recently introduced ‘See&Do Good’, a motto reflecting the will to associate aesthetic and functional needs to environmental respect. The brand now makes its cleaning cloths with a special recycled PET fibre. Moreover, the transport boxes are designed to be used also as ‘eyewear sofas’ at home, in order to prolong the life cycle of the frames. The company has also teamed up with associations involved in green conscious projects and not only in Vienna. It seems that sustainability is one of neubau’s key concepts. This brand has a green soul and wants to show it. Other companies will embrace these challenges profoundly in the years to come. The tougher the competition, the better it will be for the environment.
