Møy: open to new ideas

Møy invites to know nothing and to question everything: gender, culture, beauty, femininity and masculinity

words Editorial Staff

Be open, be pure, be a virgin in mind and spirit. Translated from Norse, MØY means a young woman, a girl who is open to new ideas yet knows nothing of societal boundaries. Møy invites to know nothing and to question everything: gender, culture, beauty, femininity and masculinity. They believe in true unisex where femininity is celebrated. Møy wants to create a universe that supports all genders, a keen mind and where compassion is praised. A universe where the brave, the cultured and the feminine are celebrated in all forms.

Born in summer 2017, May is founded by Torunn Lovise Gullaksen, award-winning accessories designer and Betty Bach, chinese Norwegian entrepreneur and style icon. Møy’s debut collection consists of 16 stand-out models of oversized sunglasses handcrafted in Japan. By merging ancient Asian jewellery making techniques with influence from the music and avant garde art scene of the 70’s, they have created four trademark shapes. Named after their personalities: Nobody’s Darling, Sense of Sonder, Erudite & Naked Heart
