Komono – An Innovative Approach

The colours of the earth, clean lines and architectural inspiration. Lightness and sleekness are the keywords for Komono’s new prescription frames

Komono opticals takes a serene approach to prescription frames for Autumn/Winter 2018, introducing new models for the Elementary collection and new proposals in acetate; characterized by gentle colourways that reflect calm confidence. Launched at Silmo 2017, the Elementary collection is at the heart of Komono Optical’s innovative approach to materials and design: an ultra-thin minimalist metal series. With a lightweight modern aesthetic, the Elementary collection is a statement in minimalist metal. As a whole, the collection answers the unspoken question: how do you strip back opticals to their most basic – and beautiful – form? Featuring revolutionary titanium nose pads and wire-thin metal temples, the Elementary’s lightweight steel styles are Komono’s latest vision. The optical collection is for those who venture off the beaten track. Inspired by the ‘less is more’ concept, as well as giving importance to clean lines and design, the main inspiration comes from architectural structures. Materials are mostly stainless steel to keep the frames light and acetate to provide high quality standards – as well as to be sure to bring out the best colours. Colourwise, Komono proposes natural and earth hues, keeping to the theme of ‘true colours’ that characterizes the brand. Cranberry, Canyon, Black Bourbon, Copper, Rose Gold and Lake Silver are some of the shades that underline the connection with the environment, both for the Elementary collection and the acetate proposals. This season the Elementary collection is enriched with four totally new models: Conrad, Yoko, Olivia and Raphaël. Yoko and Raphaël reflect a new trend and special shapes, while Conrad is a unisex model.
