Snob Milano – Back to the 60s

The appeal of the Sixties leads Snob Milano towards new and daring solutions: the style becomes ‘bold’ for models made seductive both to the eye and to the touch

Cooper, Bianca, Nina, Vanda and Giannino: these are the names of Snob Milano’s new players for Spring/Summer 2019. The brand, a leader in the creation and distribution of frames with magnetic solar add-ons in partnership with the Sunlens division of Zeiss, completely renews the collection by reworking 1960s principles and silhouettes. This is an important turning point for Snob Milano, moving away from its distinctive minimalist design with this new collection to give space to the ‘boldness’ of the astonishing years of the Italian economic boom. Characters like Marcello Mastroianni, Jacqueline Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn are sources of style inspiration, making us dream with their elegance and their unquestionable charm. Creations with important volumes seduce not only due to their shapes, but also the pleasantness to the touch afforded by the richness of the materials used. Sinuous, extremely light shapes characterize Snob Milano’s new releases; these models are available in six different colours and always matched with either the most protective or cosmetic lenses. An interesting colour palette of shades and transparencies recalls the trends of the Sixties, reinterpreted here with a contemporary vision. The care taken over the choice of the models’ names continues to characterize the brand with fun and imaginative proposals. “Every frame has a soul and therefore cannot go out without having a name,” explains Tommaso Bossetti, Snob’s head designer. The new models are no exception, having names that recall the characters, places and must-haves of the era. The public are left with the choice of their favourite frame and the game of discovering the hidden references in each model.
