Pragmatic Creativity

Pushing the envelope every season, Rejina Pyo and Projekt Produkt collaborated again on a powerful collection to complement Pyo’s Spring/Summer 2019 runway show

The Korean-born, London-based womenswear designer Rejina Pyo describes her aesthetic as “graphic and playful yet effortlessly elegant.” Pyo neatly summarized her work for Spring/Summer 2019 as “a personal reflection on a real woman’s life,” showing real women’s desire for eclecticism. Pyo and Korean eyewear brand Projekt Produkt have collaborated on eyewear collections for a few seasons now, creating wearable pieces that encourage individual instincts and maintain relevance and quality over time; each season adding to a broad and sophisticated proposition. Often the expression of thoughtfully pragmatic creativity, some styles, are powerfully neutral, like the large full-rim acetate RP12 in crystal peach or the RP11 cat-eye in gold. This tasteful and purposefully toned-down style complement stronger designs, like the RP10 and its chunky, angular cat-eye in bold counterintuitive color combinations, certainly a head-turner. A graduated from the acclaimed MA programme at Central Saint Martins and a former assistant to fashion designer Roksanda Ilincic, Pyo believes that at a time where the pace of fashion trends have reached new heights, we live in an over-stimulating market which presents customers with new choices every week. She is not concerned with promoting quick or short-term trends, instead she is focused on building long term relationships and evolving with her followers over time.
