Hoffmann Natural Eyewear – A special comeback

The ‘Roaring Twenties’ as inspiration for the celebration of a new beginning. How? With the stunning collection derived from the collaboration between Sarah Settgast and Hoffmann Natural Eyewear

When great creative talent meets the traditional handcrafting skills of the best artisans, the result can only be unique and special, and will be, above all, a style destined to last. The latest collection released by Hoffmann Natural Eyewear – in collaboration with designer Sarah Settgast – is perfect proof of this. This special ‘union’ takes us back to the ‘Roaring Twenties’ – now exactly 100 years in the past! And if, a century later, lots of things have changed, we are still fascinated by that decade, dominated as it was by a revolutionary sense of freedom, expressed in all artistic disciplines. It was an era defined by a new zeitgeist, the wish for escape; an era in which a new generation of young independent women – known as Flappers – would become cultural symbols, changing female culture forever. At the same time, influential avant-garde movements dominated 1920s art, giving birth to some of its most significant movements: Dada, Surrealism, Expressionism, and the fabulous Art Deco. The new collection ‘Sarah Settgast by Hoffmann Natural Eyewear’ succeeds in conjuring up that unforgettable atmosphere. The series comprises 12 stunning optical frames and sunglass creations, all handmade from the finest natural horn and combined with mother-of-pearl inlays and decorative elements formed from sterling silver with genuine white or yellow gold. “These are frames in the high-luxury segment. Each one is produced manually in a 300 step process at Hoffmann’s workshop in the Eifel region. Each frame is a one-of-a-kind item and is crafted from the world’s highest-grade materials,” explains Sarah.
