Etnia Barcelona and Toiletpaper Magazine unite in a surrealist eyewear collaboration with iconic, irreverent designs
Etnia Barcelona, the renowned eyewear brand celebrated for its bold designs and artistic flair, has launched its latest, most surrealist collaboration yet: the ‘Toiletpaper x Etnia Barcelona’ capsule. Teaming up with the iconic Italian magazine Toiletpaper, known for its surrealistic and provocative style, Etnia brings the magazine’s visual universe to the world of eyewear in a limited-edition capsule available in three models: Dolly, Roses 1, and Roses 2.
The Dolly model combines form and fun with a wink—literally. The frames come in three color variations—ivory white, bubblegum pink, and black—and feature 3D-printed roses along each arm. When closed, the “doll’s eye” embedded in each rose appears to blink, adding a whimsical touch to this expressive piece. The design also includes a unique feature: the Toiletpaper logo appears on the lens when exposed to breath or steam, giving users an unexpected, playful experience.
The Roses models reinterpret Toiletpaper’s iconic floral pattern with striking precision. These reversible frames, available in both black and patterned interiors, are crafted from premium Mazzucchelli acetate, marrying quality with the magazine’s daring aesthetic. Together, these designs transport wearers to the eccentric world of Toiletpaper, celebrating creativity and craftsmanship.
To mark this collaboration, Etnia Barcelona has launched an extensive media campaign that transforms Barcelona with vibrant imagery reminiscent of mid-20th-century advertisements. The campaign culminates in an exclusive launch event at the Etnia Barcelona Flagship Store, where visitors can experience the surreal essence of Toiletpaper firsthand.
