The German eyewear brand Kerl introduces a new material: the Flexarbon, a new type of carbon that differs from the standard carbon materials

Kerl Eyewear from Germany introduces a material innovation to the eyewear industry: FLEXARBON®. Developed by Dr. Jaromir Ufer and Dr. Johannes Dillinger, this new type of carbon differs significantly from the typically used standard carbon materials. In the 5-year development period, Kerl experts have created a material that is very flexible, robust and, with a thickness of 0.7mm, enables extremely lightweight and comfortable spectacle frames. The colors result from innovatively dyed carbon fibers ranging from classic black via subtle brown to hip silver and bronze shades. The material sometimes looks more like slate or wood and is therefore an aesthetic alternative to the carbon patterns known so far.

Kerl is the eyewear brand for those who enjoy superior material in combination with the latest technology and innovative detail solutions, processed in the highest standards. Each pair of Kerl glasses is produced in Germany, custom-made and tailored to the customer’s needs, manufactured in our own workshops and delivered to the optician in just a few days. All glasses in any variation, colors and special configurations can be individually configured by clients & opticians on the website. The Kerl partner opticians have exclusive online access to the whole collection and can offer the eyewear collection to their customers without any extra costs like expensivestock-keeping.
