Komono and Maximilian Raynor unite cinematic storytelling, heritage influences and subcultural references in a distinctive eyewear capsule
Komono has joined forces with British designer Maximilian Raynor for a collaboration that transforms narrative-driven fashion into a distinctive eyewear capsule. First unveiled during London Fashion Week as part of Raynor’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection I’ll Cry If I Want To, the project now takes shape as a standalone release, bringing the designer’s evocative visual universe into the realm of contemporary eyewear.
Known for blending personal memories with theatrical references, Raynor has built a design language rooted in emotion, heritage and subcultural influences. These elements are translated into a collection that explores the intersection of past and present, drawing inspiration from ghostly birthday celebrations, Royal Air Force pilots, 1920s silhouettes and garments handed down through generations.
“At its core, this collaboration was about translating a strong narrative into wearable design,” explains Raynor. The result is a capsule that balances storytelling with functionality, offering frames designed for everyday wear while retaining a distinctive creative identity.
The collection consists of two styles, Rope and Core, each available in three colourways: Cognac, Maple and Black. Crafted from acetate and fitted with polarized lenses, the frames feature subtle yet expressive details that reference Raynor’s signature aesthetic. Metal accents and punk-inspired hardware introduce a contemporary edge, while clean lines and carefully considered proportions ensure versatility.
By combining Komono’s expertise in accessible design with Raynor’s cinematic approach to fashion, the collaboration creates a dialogue between craftsmanship, memory and modern culture. The eyewear becomes more than an accessory: it acts as a vehicle for storytelling, carrying fragments of personal history and cultural references into everyday life.
With this release, Komono continues its exploration of creative partnerships, reinforcing its position as a platform for emerging voices and innovative design perspectives. The collaboration with Maximilian Raynor stands as a compelling example of how eyewear can bridge fashion, narrative and self-expression through objects that are both functional and emotionally resonant.
