Morel unveils Örigin, a premium eyewear concept combining fine wood and titanium craftsmanship, reinterpreting heritage designs through contemporary innovation.

Morel has unveiled Örigin, a new concept that represents a significant milestone in the French eyewear company’s creative journey. Conceived as an exceptional edition, the collection pushes the boundaries of the brand’s expertise in wood craftsmanship while reaffirming the technical excellence and design heritage that have been passed down through four generations.

At the heart of Örigin lies the dialogue between natural materials and advanced engineering. The collection combines carefully selected woods with lightweight titanium, creating frames that balance warmth, character and precision. Rosewood has been chosen for lighter-toned models, while oak lends depth and richness to darker colourways, highlighting the distinctive beauty of each material.

Particular attention has been given to construction details. On selected models, two slender metal lines extend seamlessly from the hinge’s double-hook structure and continue through the temples, creating an architectural effect and a sense of visual continuity. Other frames feature a translucent acrylic insert embedded within the wood, introducing subtle plays of light and transparency that enhance the collection’s premium aesthetic.

The concept also draws inspiration from Morel’s heritage, revisiting iconic silhouettes from the company’s archives through a contemporary lens. The result is a series of frames that blend timeless elegance with modern refinement.
