Jil Sander and Oliver Peoples unveil their first collaborative eyewear collection, where titanium and acetate frames reflect a refined dialogue between European minimalism and Californian heritage
Jil Sander and Oliver Peoples introduce the first release of their collaborative sunglasses collection, a project that brings together the modernist rigor of the German-founded fashion house and the refined Californian heritage of the eyewear brand.
Rooted in the idea of contrast—a defining element of Jil Sander’s aesthetic—the collection explores a balance between sharp lines and organic shapes, industrial inspiration and natural elegance. The result is a series of frames defined by essential design, where titanium and acetate are used with both restraint and tactile richness. Branding remains discreet and seamlessly integrated into functional elements such as temples and nose pads, reinforcing the collection’s quiet sophistication.
Entirely handcrafted in Japan, the sunglasses feature premium glass lenses produced in Italy and marked with Oliver Peoples’ signature “breath” logo. The titanium models—Edition 1, Edition 2 and Edition 5—play with architectural structures, combining angular rims with refined sculptural details, while acetate styles—Edition 3, Edition 4 and Edition 6—offer bold, sculptural volumes with ergonomic temples and carefully embedded logo plaques.
The color palette introduces custom tones developed specifically for the collaboration, including Dark Green, Soft Pink and Butterscotch, alongside timeless Black, Brown and Tortoise, creating subtle contrasts and refined tone-on-tone combinations. Shot in Hamburg by photographer Walter Pfeiffer, the campaign reflects the spirit of the project through crisp, luminous imagery that captures the dialogue between Oliver Peoples’ West Coast sensibility and Jil Sander’s European minimalism.
