Vava collaborates with Raster to merge cutting-edge design with experimental music, in a limited-edition eyewear collection
Alchemy seems to be etched into Vava’s DNA – not in the esoteric sense, but as a process of transformation: blending premium materials, refining artisanal techniques, and infusing them with a precise, almost surgical dose of innovation. The brand’s vision lies in the art of fusion, an unrelenting quest for balance between tradition and the future. Its eyewear, deeply influenced by the music scene, embodies this philosophy
in its purest form.
This ethos takes centre stage in its latest collaboration with Raster and its co-founder, german artist Olaf Bender, aka Byetone. More than a music label, Raster is a space where experimental electronic music intertwines with deeper concepts, such as the interaction between human and machine. Its boundary-pushing approach harmonises perfectly with Vava’s own pursuit of innovation. Together, they have created a limited-edition collection of three frames (in the pictures, unisex square model CL0025), born from the convergence of Raster’s sonic universe and Vava’s aesthetic vision, grounded in three core principles: functionality, concept, and design. Each frame is conceived as an act of resistance against conformity, for those driven to explore, invent, and look beyond the present.
The meticulous use of materials such as stainless steel and an unparalleled attention to detail reflect a commitment to innovation that does not settle for imitation but strives to redefine. “We’ve chosen Raster because it is a high-profile label and a forerunner of a genre that has deeply influenced the story of electronic music. Raster music is a form of experimentation that emphasises the balance of man and machine, the same artistic basis at the core of Vava’s philosophy,” explains pedro da Silva founder of Vava.
