Vinylize's partnership with AC/DC stretches back to 2016. The 10-piece collection created by Simon Hukkaya and Zachary Tipton features iconic details plucked from the band's iconography. Elements from the band's history saturate the limited releases. The inside of the temples features a custom wire core with an embossed barbed wire pattern seen on their Australian release of the album High Voltage (1975). The temple tip echoes the shape of Angus' Gibson SG head, including 6 inlaid chrome pins.
The colourway of the frame front, black and grey, is from their bestselling album Back in Black (1980). A fretboard pattern on the temple tip creates friction to keep the frame from slipping off while headbanging. Available as optical or sun with polarized lenses, the entire package comes in a custom box. Vinylize began by making eyewear from vinyl records in 2004 and today recycles more than 3 tons of vinyl into eyewear and accessories.
