The name Formation refers to the process of transformation, a concept drawn from geology describing how layers of rock take shape over time. The same principle guides the development of the frames: growth, change and innovation emerge gradually, layer by layer. as in previous collections, each model is named after a place.

Following early designs inspired by mountain peaks, this chapter looks beneath the surface, drawing on underwater volcanoes, rocks and elevations that make up much of the Earth’s hidden landscape.
