Following the urgent need to gather again, 630 exhibitors from 45 different countries will be at Mido 2022 showcasing their products
From April 30th to May 2nd, Mido 2022 is ready to host the entire eyewear supply chain, from large brands to smaller independent companies, with an audience of Italian and international buyers, opticians, designers and journalists, in the 5 pavilions at Rho fiera (Milan), in the Fashion District, Lenses, Design Lab, Morel, fAiR East, Lab Academy, Start up and Tech exhibit areas.
The main focus is given to trends such as gender-neutral eyewear, vintage with a return to the 1970s, greater sustainability in the materials used in packaging and processes, and the transformation of classic styles with softer lines, new shapes, and colours such as neon, shimmering, psychedelic, flamboyant and pastel hues. In fact, it was precisely colour and the power of colour in design, looking to the S/S 2023 season, that was the major topic of the webinar, in partnership with WgSN and Coloro, held at the end of March on the digital platform created for the 2021 edition - to which buyers and exhibitors already have access since it is a useful tool for those participants who are unable to travel due to health restrictions.
Together with MIDO 2022, there is also “Craving Mido” - the competition where optical centers offering an outstanding shopping experience or employing recycled materials with low environmental impact can win the BeStore and Stand Up for Green awards.
