The countdown to MIDO 2026 has begun. Visitors and journalists can already register to take part in the world’s leading eyewear trade show, with dedicated forms available on the official website. Last year’s edition welcomed over 42,000 attendees from 168 countries and more than 400 accredited national and international journalists, confirming MIDO as a vibrant crossroads of innovation, creativity and business opportunities in the eyewear industry.

From October 1, applications have opened for the MIDO Awards 2026, inviting brands and professionals to compete for some of the industry’s most prestigious recognitions. Among them, the CSE Award – Certified Sustainable Eyewear – now in its fourth edition, continues to highlight the sector’s growing commitment to sustainability. Promoted by MIDO in collaboration with ANFAO and Certottica, the award celebrates frames, sunglasses and cases designed according to eco-conscious principles, from the use of recycled or bio-based materials to the reduction of energy consumption, waste elimination and the valorization of local supply chains.

Exhibitors can submit their entries until December 14. This year brings two major novelties: first, the CSE Award will now feature three main categories – Frames, Sunglasses and Cases – a simplified structure that enhances visibility and prestige while reflecting the experience gained through previous editions. The second is the introduction of the CSE Corporate Award, born from the Stand Up For Green initiative, which will honor the most sustainability-driven exhibiting company, recognizing continuous efforts toward responsible production and management.

Meanwhile, opticians from around the world have until December 31 to apply for the eleventh edition of the Best Store Award, which celebrates the finest international optical stores in the Design and Innovation categories.
