Cosimea Sounds, your new label, was born after the success of your event series. When did you understand it was the right moment to turn this project into a music label?
Starting the label was always a part of the plan. Last summer the decision to move forward with the label felt right as I had been working on a lot of music that really didn't sound like anything that was being put out by big labels, and I didn't want to keep forcing my sound into an easy-to-sell box. I realized this year that I have a pretty loyal fan base and that there are so many people who, like me, want to hear music that sounds different to what everyone else is making. So, I just decided to go for it and to break away from all of the pressure to ‘fit in’ or to make ‘big’ music.

You said you wanted more freedom compared to the approach of the usual record labels. What kind of freedom were you searching for, and why was it important for you?
My music career has grown quite quickly, but I also went from making music solely for fun with no expectations, to waking up every day worrying that I had to follow every release with another huge track to prove myself to my fans and peers. It just started to feel extremely draining and this year I really struggled to get through creative blocks. I wasn't finishing anything that I liked because I was either worried about what was going to be successful in the commercial landscape, or I'd be working on music to sign to niche underground labels and going crazy telling myself everything was too big or too accessible to be ‘cool.’ I realized that I really just needed to create my own space to release the music that comes to me naturally.

What kind of artists or sounds do you imagine inside the world of Cosimea Sounds?
Cosimea is ‘an exploration of other-worldly club sounds’ and it's an intentionally vague description, because the feeling of being other-worldly can come from so many different design elements in music. The music that I love most makes me feel like I'm floating through space and time. I love the juxtaposition between femme euphoria and heavy masculine sounds in music. I don't want to place super clear parameters or genre borders on what I'm looking for with the label. other-worldly is a feeling that can be achieved in so many different ways through so many different tempos and structures. The label is about exploring uncharted territory and allowing myself, and, eventually, other producers, to step outside of the typical dance music formula and make music that feels interesting.

How do you plan to bring the Cosimea atmosphere to big stages?
There has definitely been a shift in my production style over the past year, and people can expect to hear more of that underground sound in my shows moving forward. I do know that there are still many fans that love the bigger, more commercial stuff I've released and I will always keep those fans in mind when playing bigger non-Cosimea branded events.

What can we expect from Cosimea Sounds in 2026?
I have a really full release schedule already planned for Cosimea in 2026. I'll still put some music out on other labels here and there when it feels like a really good fit, but I want to focus on building the Cosimea world. Hopefully I'll be taking the event to some cities around the world, and towards the end of 2026 I'll start accepting demos from other artists to bring into the fold.

You often wear eyewear. Can you tell us about your relationship with eyewear as an accessory, or maybe share an anecdote?
I think eyewear is such an amazing tool for self-expression. My husband is constantly giving me a hard time over my ‘drawer of black sunglasses.’ as someone with a pretty monotone sense of style, sunglasses are always a fun way to add a bit of personality or to elevate an otherwise simple outfit. I'm always on the lookout for a style that feels classic but with a little edge. I have these black oval glasses by ‘a Better Feeling’ that I'm obsessed with because of the little triangle cut out shape on the side. Subtle but interesting is my vibe.
