Cristiano Zanella, CEO, proudly talks about the features of unique frames that convey identity, character, and carry an attention to detail that transcends trends

What does it mean to be a ‘dandy’ today?
Being a ‘dandy’ today means consciously choosing to express yourself through details that speak of personality, care and independence. It's a way of life founded on authenticity and the freedom to show yourself for who you are. Dandy's interprets dandyism as a balance between character, material and design: sculpted frames, substantial thicknesses when necessary but also lightness and sophistication in the most minimalist lines. our ideal customer is someone who is curious and attentive to detail, who chooses glasses as part of their aesthetic language. Each collection interprets a different nuance of our identity. If I had to name a particularly emblematic collection, I'd say Core rough: it's the one that best expresses our artisanal spirit, our work with raw materials, and the craftsmanship that has always defined our way of making eyewear. The Dandy's Spring/Summer 2026 collection combines aesthetics, functionality and innovation. We worked with cellulose acetate to create comfortable, durable frames that are also perfect for progressive lenses.

Who are your influences in fashion, film, and art?
Our influences come from figures who have transformed style into a defining language that is very close to the Dandy spirit. Think of the rigorous and sensual elegance of Tom ford, the hyper-modern theatricality of Karl Lagerfeld, or the chameleon-like strength of David Bowie. We're also inspired by the baroque and eccentric aesthetic of Alessandro Michele who redefined the boundaries of contemporary expressiveness. Different personalities, yet they are united by a shared vision: style as a gesture of freedom and awareness and not just fashion.

What other elements have you invested in most to make your product recognizable?
Our starting point is always the raw material: we work acetate as if it were a living material, sculpting it to obtain volumes and surfaces rich in personality. We also invest heavily in design, paying attention to shapes, proportions and details to create frames that are not only beautiful, but also technically impeccable and comfortable every day. At the same time, the artisanal tradition continues to guide us: every frame is created in our Segusino factory, where we have been crafting quality precision work since 1974. The visionary contribution of fabio Stramare, creator of Dandy's and my partner, remains a guiding light today: his approach to design and materials inspires every decision our team makes.
