Every season represents a new chapter for Look’s journey through style and technological innovation: as told to us by Marketing Manager Marco De Fina
The F1W 25 collection focuses on NIL, one of the brand's most recognizable materials. What are the features that keep on making it a success?
We began our Natural Injection Light experiment about twenty years ago. This material boasts astonishing mechanical properties, particularly its extreme lightness and strength. Shape memory is another key feature that ensures the stability of our optical frames. Its success stems from this. It has met the needs of discerning consumers. Overtime, it has allowed us to improve people's visual well-being. It has become the material par excellence for our children's line, as it is completely non-toxic and hypoallergenic.
How is it employed in the new collection?
NIL is the undisputed star of the season, starting with its evolution, NIL-Tech. This new material makes it possible to create frames with high technical content without sacrificing style. It is a valuable alternative to acetate from an aesthetic standpoint. It is also sustainable since it requires less raw material to create a frame, and generates no waste as only the precise amount needed is used to produce the parts. It can be milled to create sophisticated designs while maintaining a lightness unattainable with acetate.
The brand encompasses several different souls, developed across multiple lines. What are the characteristics that distinguish them and what do they share?
All our lines share the same core values: excellence and perceived quality. They are distinct collections that embody the heritage, modernity, and comfort that Look has consistently ensured over the years. In Icons we find all those products that have become iconic, due to their technical solutions or materials employed, and which are immediately associated with our brand. In Moda, we see a convergence of more creative projects that do not sacrifice technicality. The Sport collection includes athleisure-style designs, offering extreme comfort for the everyday life of a dynamic consumer.
What are the best-selling frames?
Definitely our Icon products such as the NIL-Titanium frames, as well as the timeless Sport Utility styles from the Sport collection that we introduced last season in the advanced monoblock NIL version.
Who makes up Look's audience?
The audience doesn't vary from country to country, because we cater to people who love the excellence and quality of independent brands. Colour preferences, however, do vary, as each market is tied to its own aesthetic culture, of which colour is an integral part.
