Jutta Kahlbetzer, CEO and designer, explains how fine materials and design transform the frames into symbols of style and modern sophistication

What is the best question we could ask about Maybach Eyewear? And the worst?
The best question would be whether excellence in craftsmanship is the soul of Maybach Eyewear, to which we would respond with an unequivocal yes. The one we would rather never answer is whether we can speed up the production process.

Maybach Eyewear is?
It is a brand designed to distinguish. The face of Maybach reflects the soul of both product and brand: a commitment to outstanding craftsmanship and impeccable design.

What is the concept behind the brand?
"To create the very best from the very best" is the maxim of Wilhelm Maybach, which we support 100 % as a family-owned German eyewear atelier. It is not only the brand name or logo that makes Maybach Eyewear so attractive. To stand out in the crowd, the body and soul of the product itself must be excellent in all aspects: precious materials, perfectly handcrafted and a true sensual delight to touch and wear.

How would you describe Maybach frames?
Masterpieces in craftsmanship: bold, elegant, timeless, sophisticated.

Your eyewear collections echo the soul of Maybach automobiles. What automotive detail most defines your approach to design?
Actually, it is the combination of different materials which offer different characteristics: warm wood or horn, combined with cold titanium or gold; matt finish combined with glossy piano varnish or mirror-polished metal ornaments. Just like the car, the eyewear creations speak to all our senses.

In what way do your frames carry the same charisma, precision and power as a Maybach on the road?
A masterpiece is not created in a day, but it captivates in an instant.

What are the features of the latest collection and its inspiration?
Sleek metal trims, structures and lines form the elegant and sporty appearance of the car, two-tone lacquering represents the peak of sophistication in elegance.
