Why is the link with your territory so essential for your company?
Since the beginning, our production site has been the upper Austrian Salzkammergut in the heart of Austria. The goal of Johann von Goisern is to preserve the company location in Bad Goisern at lake Hallstatt and to offer local families an inspiring, secure and long-term job. furthermore, our design team draws its inspiration for the eyewear and their choice of colours from local nature. We decided many years ago not to serve the mainstream market but to create a niche with Johann von Goisern, which made us unique in the market for many years. Inspired by our success, several companies have recently started imitating us. Through the laminating technology we developed in the 80s, we are able to create our unique Johann von Goisern frames.

Your product is based on the unlimited number of nature's colour influences translated into distinctive stripes with unlimited customisation opportunities: what’s your product strategy?
Johann von Goisern is the world's largest laminated eyewear collection. It offers over 119 models, each available in 5 colours and over 595 variations. Due to our great international success we produce about 100,000 glasses per year, sold in 21 countries worldwide. great demand has made it no longer possible to produce single frames.

Pomberger is a family company: how is it working together with your father?
We are now in the fourth generation. Pomberger Goisern was founded by Johann Pomberger, whose first name was also immortalized in our eyewear brand Johann von Goisern. Today's management consists of me and my father Hans Peter Pomberger, who launched the brand in the early 90s. My father takes care of the design whilst I’m in charge of the worldwide sales. At the moment we serve 10 countries worldwide from Austria, 15 further countries are taken over by our exclusive distribution partners. Italy has recently been added with our new partner World Optik.

What is the main news on the collections presented at Silmo in September?
In our adult collection, we have 10 new models with an appealing mix of medium women's shapes and fresh sporty elegant men's frames. here, our design team has generously incorporated the manifesto of colours that only reveals itself at the end of the year. not only for lovers of nature: here we offer a selection of current trend colours such as Lava falls, Samoan Sun and Lichen Blue in eyewear shapes. The Johann von Goisern art-Collection captivates with calmness in unrest, with asymmetry in a world of harmony. In 4 new shapes, flashy colours meet shapes that tempt you to look again.
