Claudia Brotons, the Creative Director of Kaleos, unveils the features of the new SS25 men's collection of the brand, designed to inspire confidence and sophistication
When and why did you decide to launch your men's collection?
Fashion for me is universal; it transcends gender. At Kaleos, we see fashion as an expression of individuality and personality. From the very beginning, our collections included designs for the masculine audience. however, a few seasons ago, we decided to launch a dedicated men's collection to give it the attention it deserves – space to develop unique concepts, experiment with new technologies, and refine our approach to masculine eyewear.
We know you as a designer with a strong feminine touch. How difficult has it been to design a men's collection?
Designing for men wasn’t about difficulty but about reinterpreting the Kaleos aesthetic through a different lens. More masculine design calls for precision, structure, and balance, which is an exciting creative challenge. Inspiration came from industrial design, architecture, and technical engineering – fields that embody the fusion of shape and function. The introduction of our screw-free hinge is a perfect example of this marriage of innovation and aesthetic.
What are the main features of your men's collection?
The Kaleos Man SS25 collection reflects a modern, forward-thinking vision of masculinity, designed to inspire confidence and sophistication with a modern approach to fashion. I would say that this man goes for minimal and contemporary looks without forgetting attention to quality. In terms of design, the aim was to break new ground in technical craftsmanship, particularly the new screw-free hinge, which enhances flexibility and durability. I developed masculine shapes that range from fine and technical to more rounded and thicker designs. Additionally, many models are offered in two sizes to appeal to a broader audience. We used premium materials such as titanium, acetate, stainless steel, and innovative hybrid combinations that prioritise lightweight comfort. For the colours, a palette with timeless neutrals.
How do you imagine the ideal profile of your Kaleos man?
The Kaleos man is someone who values quality, innovation, and timeless design. he is confident, forward-thinking, and appreciates the craftsmanship behind what he wears. The versatility of our collection ensures that there is a Kaleos frame for every moment.
What are your goals for the new year?
Our primary goal is to solidify the Kaleos Man collection as a benchmark for modern, masculine eyewear. We aim to expand our audience, reach more men who resonate with our vision, and establish ourselves as a leader in innovative eyewear design.
